Reading nook

I am so excited! One of my dreams has always been to have a den in my home.

A place where Lu and I can go and be quiet. There will be no tv, simply a place to think, read, reflect, and pray. Ideally it will have a couple leather chairs, coffee tables, a fireplace, hardwood floors with area rugs. Oh, and a few bookshelves. So, no, Olivia’s room is not now the den, nor are we moving to accommodate this dream right now. Haha.
Lu suggested that we make a reading nook in our room. I of course thought that was a great idea! We made that a reality this weekend. We went to Ikea and found a great chair, footstool and coffee table to go in the corner of our room. It looks and feels amazing to be in this space! I am proud to write that I am writing this post from my new nook.
I am so thankful to God that he had given me such an awesome wife that believes in me and wants me to realize my dreams. I love you God!

Father’s Day

Well, yesterday was my first Father’s Day and it was amazing. It started with a shower and shave for me. Felt so refreshed! When I came out of the bathroom, my daughter Olivia and my wife Lu were on the bed waiting for me! So nice to have cuddles in bed. Lu left and came back singing a happy Father’s Day song and had not one but two cards! She also brought with her 3 mini cupcakes. It was awesome to read the cards, one from my wife and one from my daughter. Olivia, at 6months signed the card! Haha. So much fun.

We then got up and started getting ready for brunch at our house with Lu’s dad and Marilyn and Susie and Garret. We had a blast eating omletes, bacon and fruit parfait. We then went over to Brad and Celinas to celebrate with them and mom. Had an awesome shrimp boil with corn on the cob and homemade slaw.

I am one blessed man! I have a wonderful wife and daughter, an awesome dad and great family! Thank you God.

article
I read this article this morning and it really touched me. This is the sort of legacy I want to leave for my children. Not just the shaving bit, (although I like the idea of that) but most importantly, about a personal relationship with The Father, God. I believe this relationship is the greatest legacy of all. To see your parents talk about God, pray and read the word openly…wow!
I thank my dad today for being that ongoing legacy for me to this day. I love you dad! I trust to follow in your footsteps of legacy creating. Happy Father’s Day.
