We decided to make an impromptu trip to whistler yesterday morning. We had a blast on our first road trip as a family together. It was the perfect length for us at around 2.5 hrs. We enjoyed our time up there.

On a separate note, Olivia got a seat for the potty. Today she did both businesses on it for the first time! Yes, I’m a new dad. Haha

Father’s Day

Well, yesterday was my first Father’s Day and it was amazing. It started with a shower and shave for me. Felt so refreshed! When I came out of the bathroom, my daughter Olivia and my wife Lu were on the bed waiting for me! So nice to have cuddles in bed. Lu left and came back singing a happy Father’s Day song and had not one but two cards! She also brought with her 3 mini cupcakes. It was awesome to read the cards, one from my wife and one from my daughter. Olivia, at 6months signed the card! Haha. So much fun.

We then got up and started getting ready for brunch at our house with Lu’s dad and Marilyn and Susie and Garret. We had a blast eating omletes, bacon and fruit parfait. We then went over to Brad and Celinas to celebrate with them and mom. Had an awesome shrimp boil with corn on the cob and homemade slaw.

I am one blessed man! I have a wonderful wife and daughter, an awesome dad and great family! Thank you God.

A Father’s Day Gift

article
I read this article this morning and it really touched me. This is the sort of legacy I want to leave for my children. Not just the shaving bit, (although I like the idea of that) but most importantly, about a personal relationship with The Father, God. I believe this relationship is the greatest legacy of all. To see your parents talk about God, pray and read the word openly…wow!
I thank my dad today for being that ongoing legacy for me to this day. I love you dad! I trust to follow in your footsteps of legacy creating. Happy Father’s Day.

Shaving

I know, kind of an odd title, right?
Well, it has been about a month and a half since I have switched from the traditional cartridge razors to a safety razor. Here is what one looks like: cPath=116_117_8“>here

There are a lot of reasons why I switched: cost (much cheaper), something new to do, better for scalp (a lot less razor burn and ingrowns), and a fun experience. Overall I am really enjoying it. There you have it, my thoughts of the day.

Yesterday was a crazy day!

Posted: 09/06/2013 in Family

Yesterday was a crazy day! My wife’s Grandma just turned 90! We got together and had tea at a beautiful venue. I also worked the night shift before going for tea. It was followed by a short nap and my Sister and Brother in law coming over for dinner. All in all a great day. After this weekend, I am looking forward to spending some time alone with my wife and daughter and relaxing at home. I love being out and about and being with people, but I think that I have reached my limit, for this week… haha. So there you have it!

Too Long…

So, it has now been at least a week since I have written on my blog. Firstly, let me say that I have switched to a wordpress blog as it has some features that I was looking for that my other host did not have, hence the switch. Please follow me here!

It has been a very busy week and weekend! My parents are in town and we have gotten to spend a bunch of time with them. It has been great to see them meet and get to know their first grandaughter! Olivia was full of smiles and curiosity at Grandma’s necklaces and Grandpa’s beard. It was a lot of fun.

Anyways, I am back!
